The faucet leading to the chamber of secrets was added in later, possibly by one of Voldemort’s ancestors. There wouldn’t have been piping or faucets during the time of Salazar Slytherin and the other founders, so it isn’t likely that he could have put it there himself. It was adjusted later on, when the sinks were installed.
